I remember listening to Snofeel’s first single and i quite liked it. Now comes his first album release and a line up of good collabs. So, i gave this a try. I like the music but his rapping needs a bit of getting used to. His voice is deep in contrast with the soft featured vocals.. Tracks to try: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 13. I like track 4 featuring Na Je Se, just like his voice^^ Sorry for the missing few tracks :/ Lately music online are missing instrumentalsㅠㅠ

Moon Hee Jun back with a new mini album and i’m not disappointed. Saw him at a concert and his performance was very lively and energetic – really good. Not quite sure about his personality though :/ Been hearing both positive and negative, don’t know which to believe lol. If you are not familiar with Moon Hee Jun’s music, his genre is rock. As for this mini album, it’s more towards rock ballads. I recommend you try track 2 and then 1 first. Track 3 is a bit too hardcore rock for me at the moment hahaha.. (*joking joking, not that hard core as i had described ㅋㅋ)

Moon Hee Jun - Last Cry

I’ve been anticipating their comeback for qutie a while. Conclusion? Mainly positive thoughts but a few set backs. First, i’ll talk about the music. The solo by Young Saeng.. lyrics written by him. At first, i thought.. oh no… not another boring slow ballad by Young Saeng. My sister gave me an excuse that perhaps his voice just only suit ballads well lol. Ok.. I’ll take that into consideration hm… anyhow… i saw the first part of the MV and the song fitted in well. Now, if you listen to it carefully a few times, it’s really not that bad. Second track, Kyu Jong. I saw his MV part and i was shocked with the eye makeup…. nevertheless, the song is soooo catchy and i’m lovin it. Maybe because the song was composed and lyrics written by Kim Tae Wan a.ka “C-LUV”. Woot woot go Kyu Jong! But i have my disapointment. If any of you guys have seen Kim Dong Hee’s MV featuring Kyu Jong, you’ll realise that Kyu Jong looks different. I don’t want to think it’s true but his nose… what did he do~~? Argh!! I don’t know if he has had it done or what but he ain’t look like before. He has a more sharper look, his gentle look now goneㅜㅜ Next!! Kim Hyun Joong. For sure his sudden fame from Boys Over Flower has rubbed off on SS501 lol. I was watching Haptic Mission and this song came up on the very last episode. At that time, it was unreleased and i was anticipating it. Now it’s out and it’s really nice too. His part to the MV… take away that top he is wearing inside when he takes off his jacket, everything is alright i guess ROFL. Also, one disappoinment is the theme of the MV. They could have came up with something rather than guns, hostage and bloodshed :/ Overall, i’m very happy with this single :D

SS501 - Collection

01. 이름없는 기억 (Young Saeng Solo) [TITLE] (Ireum eomneun kieok) – Nameless memory
02. Wuss Up (Kyu Jong Solo)
03. 제발 잘해줘 (Hyun Joong Solo) (Jebal jalhaejwo) – Please be nice to me

There’s something about this group. They’ve got the vocals but the image they project is a bit confusing. I don’t know what their exact style is… perhaps it’s the song choices that needs working on. I think they are sitting somewhere on borderline between overused ballad beats and something a bit more updated. That’s exactly why i’m confused :S From my point of view, i perceive them as good singers but their songs are not unique enough to keep me interested. Maybe more refreshing songs and/or better marketing will give them better exposure to the kpop market.

My fave singer from a group, Kim Yong Jun of SG Wanna Be~ I just love love his voice. It’s always beautiful, gentle and calming. One thing i object is him dating Hwang Jung Eum! Not because i’m a crazy fan but because i think he deserves someone way better. If you’ve watched ‘We Got Married’ you can see for yourself as well. Hwang Jung Eum is just so mean and demanding! Poor Yong Jun… man, he is SUPER SUPER nice, that’s also one of the reason why i like himㅠㅠ Oh well… we can’t do anything about it. Back to my review. Boths songs are good. The first track is a happy song that will get you in a good mood. The second track is a more serious sad ballad song lol. But, the 2nd track is where Yong Jun’s real talent comes in. It is sung with more emotion and his voice exerts more power, gentle at the same time. It’s exactly why i was originally mesmerized by his voice in the first place~~

I really really like the two new tracks. Been listening to it for quite a while already. I didn’t post their third album but it was quite good too. So far, the best of the three albums they have released. Give them a try!

8eight - The Golden Age (Repackaged)

01. 잘가요 내사랑 [TITLE] (Jalgayo naesarang) – Goodbye My Love
02. 울고싶어 우는 사람이 있겠어 (Feat. 다이나믹 듀오 Dynamic Duo) (Ulgoshipeo uneun sarami itgesseo)

I’ve been waiting ages for their official debut. Their first single was released on the 5th of February titled ‘Melody’ which is also included in this single. Yay~~ I totally loved all the songs they were featured in, especially MC Mong’s 미치겠어 (Michigesseo). I’ve seen them perform live once with MC Mong. Although they weren’t the main singers, seeing them both on stage was impressive lol. At first like most people, i thought they were called MAC as in one word but it’s each letter pronounced individually. That is, M.A.C. Lovin this single~

MAC - 2nd Digital Single

01. 꼭 만나고 싶다 [TITLE] (Ggok mannago shipda) – I want to see you soon

What did i first think of this song when it first released? Well, certainly, I thought they wanted to gain attention with the title of the single. Also note that Big Bang had previously released their 2nd Mini Album titled “Hot Issue”. Adding to that, when first observed, 4minute looked like a copy of 2NE1 who had debuted before them. As for the song.. it does get to you. I dunno what to think, you do the judging. In my opinion however, i prefer 2NE1 (2NE1 seems to have more of a unique style).

Crown J Performs in NY

Rapper Crown J will perform in New York for two straight days, starting on July 2nd. The rapper’s concert was held for the Korean community in New York, before launching his American career.

Originally Crown J had planned only one concert on July 2nd, but was contacted by a Manhattan club to hold another one. He will perform at Irvin Plaza in Manhattan first, and then continue on at the club Circle the following day. Included in the concert repertoire is his new release “I’m Good,” which he worked on together with singer/producer Lee Hyun-do. “I’m Good” contains hopeful messages typical of southern hip hop and its Korean version will be produced separately for his Korean fans and the Korea-American communities.

Crown J’s latest album will be released on July 10th after which he’ll go on a concert tour with stops at Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Atlanta. He wrapped up his stint in Korea earlier this year to return to his hometown Atlanta, where he founded an independent album label “Fly Boy Entertainment.”

Album Sales for the First Half of 2009

The online album stats site Hanteo Chart reported that Super Junior topped album sales in the first half of this year. Released on March 13, Super Junior’s third album with the title song “Sorry Sorry” sold nearly 110 thousand copies in the first six months of 2009.

Following in second place is Girls’ Generation. The girls’ mini album containing “Gee” was rolled out in early January, selling over 72 thousand copies. Girls’ Generation was undoubtedly the hottest group in the earlier part of the year and hopes to ride the momentum into the second half with their new release “Genie (a.k.a. Tell Me Your Wish).”

Legendary Seo Tae-ji took third place with his second single “Atomos Part Secret” from his eighth album. If his first eighth album single, “Atomos Part Moai” released in late July last year is included, his two singles related to “Seotaji 8th Atomos” have recorded more than 200 thousand copies in album sales.

SG Wannabe came in fourth in album sales (nearly 40,000 copies sold) with their sixth album released in April.

M Reinvents Himself

Singer M, also known as Lee Min-woo of idol group Shinhwa, is looking forward to revealing a new self in his upcoming mini album. Titled “Minovation,” the album is named to imply himself, M, and innovation.

He said the unexpected failure of his fourth album compelled him to look back and find out what is wrong with his music. For the new mini album M chose the songs that best represent his new musical style, a mixture of electronic sounds and hip hop rhythm. There are six tracks in the album and one song that catches our attention is “The M Style – 2009 Remix,” which is an adaptation of his 2007 hit from the third album.

M also focused his attention on the dance numbers. He chose some of the top dancers in Korea to join him on stage. His dance concept this time is a dance battle in the middle of a city. The reinvented singer admits that he’s been complacent, but now vows to focus all his attention on his career and music. The limited edition of “Minovation” has gone on sale on June 24th.

Korean Stars Mourn Michael Jackson

Together with the fans all over the world Korean musicians are mourning the sudden death of Michael Jackson.

Rain, visiting Macao for the launching of his fashion brand “Six to Five” when he heard the news of Jackson’s death, said that it was Michael Jackson who inspired him to dance. One of Korea’s most famous stars overseas said that Jackson was his spiritual mentor and will remain as the textbook for all singers and dancers worldwide.

Moon Hee-jun, former leader of idol group H.O.T., reminisced about the time he met with Jackson behind stage during his 1999 concert in Seoul. Moon talked about how he froze up when he finally got to meet Jackson in person. He also remembered being electrified by the charismatic presence of the king of pop.

Jackson has inspired many other Korean musicians, such as Park Jin-young, Se7en, BoA, and Yoon Mi-rae. They have all mourned the death of their idol and remembered how they dreamed of becoming a great performer like Jackson.

Jackson held two concerts in Korea, one in 1996 and another one three years later. He even attended the inauguration ceremony of President Kim Dae-jung in 2002. His last promise to Koreans fans was that he will come back when the two Koreas are reunited.

4minute

Five members of the new female group 4minute say that they’re not worried about competing against another recently-debuted girl band 2NE1.

After performing the group’s debut song, “Hot Issue,” in a cable music program, 4minute members said that they admire 2NE1 and it’s an honor for them to stand on the same stage with them. However, they don’t think 2NE1 as their rivals, because their music styles are totally different. The leader of 4minute, Nam Ji-hyun, said that each member of the group has a very distinct personality, which is incorporated into the songs. She told the reporters to look forward to their performances.

Once again, i apologize for the slow update. Actually i’ve been trying to sort out all my songs for my mp3 list (which is taking days and days…..). After looking at the list again, i was shocked to find quite a lot of broken links. Argh!!! Don’t know why 4shared does this, it’s not meant to! So on top of my stress load with uni, life, home, work and whatever free time i have, I’m trying to put this all together with hundreds of songs to upload & re-upload (not forgetting stupid internet limit sitting at 30GB per month costing a forturne alreadyㅜㅜ) So yeah, anyways, today i was just logging onto nateon (Korean chatting program (eg. like msn)) and came across some pics posted in the hotclip section. So just to update this blog a little i might as well add some non-mp3 files at the moment. Here goes:
