Three female artists each with a different style of singing, singing the same song. I don’t know which version to prefer! In general, out of the three, i like Narcia. I found Min Kyung’s version a bit depressing, maybe because she has the lowest voice out of the three lol. Oh wait, that makes sense. Min Kyung’s vocal is the lowest, then comes Eun Jeong’s version and Narcia’s vocal is the highest. Btw, if you don’t know, from the cover left to right: Min Kyung, Narcia & Eun Jeong.

포맨 (4men) – Mini Album – First Kiss – October 7 2008

At first, when i listened to the title track, it didn’t really stand out. But, when i listened to it carefully, it’s a beautiful song. It gives me the similar feeling their songs titled 고백 (Gobaek) & 다시 사랑할 수 있을까 (Feat. 박정은 Park Jung Eun) (Tashi saranghal su isseulkka) gives. I guess it’s because they have their own unique music style, plus I like VIBE :) Track 1 is an intro, track 3 is an instrumental and track 2 is a solo sung by one member. If only they had a music video for the title track. I’m sure it would give a better impression of the song. If you are further interested in 4men, i suggest you start from their 3rd album titled ‘Andante’ (2006), great album.

원더걸스 (Wonder Girls) Single – The Wonder Years – Trilogy – September 26 2008

I never ever thought I’d start liking Wonder Girl’s music. Since being in Korea I have been bombarded with their songs on the streets etc.. First it was ‘So Hot’ now ‘Nobody’. It’s funny in a way. I guess it caught on because most of my male friends knew or liked Wondergirls. I was amazed when a group of guys i knew started to do the Sot Hot and Nobody dance moves LOL. I mean, the song ‘Nobody’ was released just a few days and they already knew the dance moves ahaha.. As for me, i quite like ‘Nobody’, including the Remix version and the MV featuring JYP is hilarious. Track 4 is quite good as well. Now I notice why Wonder Girls is so popular. All of their major songs have repetitive lyrics eg. ‘Irony irony’, ‘So so so hot hot’ & ‘Nobody nobody’. Really catchy.

애즈 원 (As One) & 투앤비 (2nb) – Single – The Rival Project Vol.2 – September 24 2008

Lately I’ve been noticing that singles and albums that are being shared are missing instrumental tracks. It’s so frustrating because i can’t stand it when a single/album is incomplete. I couldn’t find the last two tracks for this single, sorry… Anyways, back to the album review. With the word ‘rival’, well.. it’s a group project, I’m suppose you’re meant to choose which version is better, As One or 2nb. To tell you the truth, i can barely find a difference except that As One has a member with this unique kind of voice. 2nb’s version is more…subtle. My fave track would have to be no.3 by 2nb.

Whooo~Another hot single from Brown Eyed Girls. I absolutely love track 1. Track 2, first impression was so so. But then, i kept seeing them performing on music shows on TV and it caught on. It is just as good as the first. Great tracks to get you energized lol. The first 2 are upbeat pop, the remaining 2 are slower jazz type kind of songs. I also like track 4.

장근이 (Jang Geun Ee) – Digital Single – 장근이의 전국민 러브송 (Jang Geun Ee e jeon guk min reobeusong) – September 16 2008

I love this song. It makes me feel so happy. I’m also fond of MC Mong’s music. The artist name here is Jang Geun Ee. However, I’m not sure if it’s actually $Howgun (Park Jang Geun). I have the feeling it is $Howgun because on the cover pic, on the hat of one of the character it says ‘Showgun’. Unless, $Howgun for this single uses his informal name that people call him by. Just add ‘Ee’ to the end of the name, usually called between friends and family, therefore Jang Geun becomes Jang Geun Ee. He sounds VERY similar to MC Mong. I think it’s because he has worked with MC Mong in the past. Again, sorry for the missing instrumental track. I’ve tried searching for it but with no luck.
