Ahaha… just for the moment there’s heaps of updates but soon I won’t be updating too often because I promised myself to start studying as from 1st of Feb. Actually, I resigned from work for Sunday and so i had this one whole week free to do whatever. I wish i could continue to keep up this effort but to tell you the truth, it’s time consuming. I feel so much like a net bum! ROFL. Hyori acted in a new group’s MV. I’ve posted it on the main page. Btw, good luck for your exams! Ace it!!!

I think I might abandon my ‘blog’. It just takes too much time of which I do not have.
I totally would not want to be Hyori’s guy in the movie. I am not much of a Hyori fan; I like cute girls rather than those who try to be sexy.

Hmm… i don’t use any particular program. I usually just use any movie maker program on a comp which lets you split the files where you want to and save it to the comp. Not sure about other prgrams

I get what you mean about posting stuff similar to others. I try to avoid it too but sometimes you can’t avoid it lol. I think the thing that distinguishes a site from another is the purpose of it. Here with Fly High, it’s basically my expression of the music I like, ones I have listened to, hence you would barely see me post albums I haven’t yet listened to. One set back, there’s kind of less variety..
And ahah.. Sung Si Kyung and Shinhwa? Sung Si Kyung is originally a solo ballad singer and still is… Haven’t yet heard a song of him with Shinhwa before? Unless there is one i haven’t come across?

I was just saying we should learn to find our own lyrics.
So we don’t have to ask you every time.
For me, if I’m at Seoul, I’d be out wandering around most of the time.
Instead of using the computer to help people find some media.
Helping people is nice, but if I had to choose,

Since I decided I was going to a job fair to apply to some places.
I want some experience.

When I went back during 2 summers ago,
I went out everyday.
Even went out by myself .. its not easy making friends there.
Well no, it is .. but I was only there for about 2 months.
So I didn’t spend much time making friends.
And the friends I had from before, we don’t talk anymore.
But anyways, there are so many nice things to buy there.
The clothes, accessories, and electronics.
I’m not usually too interested in accessories.
But where I live now, you can’t really find as nice ones.
The really nice ones they import from Korea, they charge too much.
So, I save most of my shopping for when I go back.
You can buy things that are much more nice for cheaper.
Well, not sure if its cheaper.
I’m not good with math, so I don’t know the conversion? =S

For the “Kurosagi” movie, it should come out during march 2008. It looks really interesting even though I have not seen the drama. AND I really like the theme song for Kurosagi movie: NEWS – Taiyou no Namida.
As for Hana Yori Dango ~ I only got up to the 1st or 2nd episode of the second season and gave up. Long dramas bore me to death, especially when it is the same thing over and over again.

As for the staying Korea or rather ~ staying on the computer in korea ~ I doubt you will. Although Korea is filled with the internet, you’ll be having fun doing activities outside. It is good that you have helped people since JUNE ‘07, which is much longer than I could have lasted, and I am sure you’ll continue to try. Just don’t overdo yourself.
Get a feel for your individual self that wants to be free from internet ties and live for yourself for awhile. I know you willl still be into Korean music and SADLY karaoke [haha], but you will be able to share that with all your -new- friends that you will make.
Just one request, however: Occasionally post a couple pictures and how it is like there and what problems that may occur to you on your trip. Most people reading your blog will be interested in your trip to Korea and how it is like.

The indie music from jaejoo boys sounds refreshing. However, it is very difficult to find indie music (especially non-mainstream) on the internet. I found some information though. the 재주소년 {New World} song is from the Jaejoo Boys/Jeju Boys 2nd album: Peace. The musicians are not very well-known. Heh, the only way I can think of finding it is either knowing some good korean websites or buying it.
This is completely UNRELATED by this youtube video is so cool: Jeju Boys (not the ones you’re talking about) make a human LCD cheer. I’m amazed! @.@ It is NOT a screen but actual people. If you watch into it, it gets much better. This is a MUST see.
I’m very sorry I could not find it for you. I was looking for myself too, their songs are pretty good.

I have good news, but I have more bad news. I found many dead ends (in english sites, korean sites, and chinese sites) in searching for the Jaejoo Boys: Peace. I was sooo close, but the links were dead. However, I found a site where you can listen to all the songs, but I do not know how to download it. Unless neko28 finds it (as she is more proficient in Korean ~ but Clubbox did not even have it T.T). The only other way to get the songs is to record the sound on your computer while it is playing.

Personally after I lsitened to most of the songs, it is pretty good. However, the songs get repetitive; each song sounds too alike. 재주소년 {New World} is definitely the best song.

I think it is important to teach people how to find music on their own. Also the fact that neko28 will be off to Korea and will not be able to update as frequently. This guide is for asian multimedia only, not American (but you could implicitly use this method for such uses). So here is how to find what you want:
Before You Search:
You have to know what you’re looking for to find it. Make sure you know enough information such as the artist name and song/album/MV. Wikipedia is a good place to find such information.
Lesson 1: Search Engines
Search engines can be your best friend. My personal favorite is Google. Sometimes if you type the song name, album, or MV in search, a link will come up with a blog, forum, or some website that has a link for what you’re looking for. Words of warning though: Avoid generic words and definitely avoid chinese websites. If you think the website is unsafe, then don’t go to it.
For example, if you needed to find Minwoo’s ‘Sentimental Reason’: you would type ‘minwoo sentimental reason’ in the search. You would be able to find the album from several sites on the first page. Even Neko28’s blog is on the first page of google.
Tips: If nothing comes up in your search, try being less specific.
In an artist’s name, there could be many different names. Try different romanizations of the name, and if need be, try the Korean text [hangul] name. In the previous example, use ‘Min woo’ instead of ‘Minwoo’
Lesson 1.5: Search Engines Advanced
Now you know how to use Google to find what you’re looking for. Yet, what if google does not help much? Try defining your search with quotes. Like the previous example, do this instead: Minwoo ’sentimenal reason’. It makes it more specific so that it looks for ’sentimental reason’ exactly.
If you know the media could be on a particular site, use the ’site:website search-term’ method. Example:
site:z-degrees.net Min woo sentimental reason
This will search inside the website’z-degrees.net’. This can be very useful. You can also use this for megaupload and a few other fileshare sites.
What if what Google said was not actually on the website? Another important skill is Google’s ‘cache’. You may have noticed that many websites in Google’s search has a ‘cache’ link near it. The cache is just Google’s documentation of the website that Google saves on its own drives. Therefore what Google said was on a website was actually there, it is just that the site had been updated. So whenever there is an updated website, try the cache link to see if you can find what you’re looking for.
Lesson 2: Forums
Forums on Asian music can be the one of the best ways to find asian multimedia. It brings a whole community of people into one central place. This is very effective in updating with the newest/best stuff in a variety of areas. They require a sign-up, but they can be very much worth it. You can post/request/etc. Also note lesson 1.5: Since the search option is disabled in both of these forums, use the ’site:’ method. Two forums you must sign-up to are:

Lesson 3: Blogs
As you may have noticed (considering you are here), blog sites are frequently used for news and sharing multimedia. I have many blogs in my favorites list that I go to to see if there is anything new. It would be smart to use [site:wordpress.com SEARCH] or blogspot/livejournal/etc to find what you’re looking for. Since you all know the in’s-and-out’s of blogs I will not go far with it. Some good blogs that I personal think are great:

Lesson 4: Other websites
Not really much to say here. Well I have been writing ‘less on’ each lesson (Well I thought that was funny T.T). Other good sites that I have marked are:
bww2.com – Really recommended for -individual- songs. Not albums or mv’s.
soompi.com – You won’t find downloads here. BUT it is a very good forum for korean entertainment.
aheeyah.com/lyrics/ – Very good site for lyrics.
yesasia.com – Buy your music.
megadownload.net/ – SEARCH inside megaupload and rapidshare. Try to be broad in your searches and copy/paste the url and not go inside the links. ’site:megaupload.com’ also works in Google.
Conclusion
You really read all of this? If anything is un-clear, then tell me and I’ll clear it up ^^. I really wish this was not a comment though. What if I made a mistake somewhere or wanted to add something? Then I would not be able to fix it T.T

Bonus Lesson 5: Movies (not MV’s) and Dramas
The method for finding asian movies / dramas online is similar. You could use the methods above, but movies/dramas are different than music. They are much larger in size and are often cut down into pieces for easier downloading (although I feel everything in one piece would be easier, but not everyone has the same bandwidth as I).
Forums: Forums are the number one method of downloading higher quality video. They are communities similar that to asian music. Some music forums have video sections. z-degrees.net and z9.invisionfree.com/bww2 are two forums that cover both music, movies, and dramas, although they are quite limited. A good movie-oriented site is idols-unlimited.com/community, however, it does have a good share of ads/pop-ups. A very recommend drama forum is d-addicts.com, however the use of torrents is necessary.
Streaming: There are a large number of streaming sites that offer low-quality video at the cost of convenience. My favorite is ‘aznv.tv’ (Yes, ‘.tv’ and not ‘.com’). It has a high selection of dramas to watch and a few movies (all english subtitled). It has very very little ads. However, it is necessary to have winamp to watch the streams. Other streaming sites are:
mysoju.com – A pretty good streaming site. Very high selection.
crunchyroll.com – I personally don’t like this site, but that is only me.
Other sites:
chinkymovies.blogspot.com – A blogger who has links to a variety of movies/dramas. She reviews many of them as well.
silentregrets.com – Very good drama site.
veoh.com- As long as the video is under 30min you can watch it streaming at decent quality. Otherwise, it is necessary to download using their VeohTV program. It downloads as an avi. It is a decently good site that is easy and convenient to use. I get dramas from veoh when I don’t get them from torrents (I am a quality-freak; I really try not to watch movies or dramas streaming).
Overall:
If you want high quality video, you must download them from forums or other sites. If you do not mind quality, then you can stream it, however, the number of stream-ed video is limited.

D.bace. I’m not too familiar with them although i’ve seen their music posted around. It’s a group consisting of 5 guys but now there’s only 2 members left. The two members are Song Ji Hoon (28) and Kim Hwan Ho (28). Both these guys sing and rap. The other three members are JED (30) – Vocal & Rap – he has gone solo, Oh Su An (28) – Vocal – has gone into acting? and Nam Hyun Joon(28) – Vocal – not sure. I do not know, but maybe nicole knows~ At first I thought I knew who the singer was by the voice, but after listening to it a little longer, I realized that the voice was distinct and not any of the artists I know of. I would also like to go abroad to study! But I doubt that I will. Next year I am going to university for freshman year; I’m excited, but slightly scared of the change. Whatever my major is (either engineering or medical field), I probably won’t be able to take a year or so off to Japan or Taiwan, but I would so love to. That is one reason I wanted to know what your major was going to be; to see what you were planning on using your Korean language on.
I’ll look into it: See if I can go abroad to Japan or Taiwan. (I do not want to go to China though. Maybe to visit I guess, but I really do not like the Socialist PRC). I wonder how expensive it would be to go? Heh, one reason I am going into the medical field instead of engineering is the possibility that I can use my career to go to Asia. But, I don’t know.

I have never watched pop in seoul, but that track ‘emotion’ helped me find the single; without it I would not have been able to. Overall the songs span a couple of genres. It is a variation of pop/rap/hip-hop. I really only like the first song, however, the Get-up is addicting. The MV for Emoticon was good too although I kept confusing the females with each other.

Well, do you know the existence of the album of Lee Soo-young named The Colors of my Life (MR)? I heard about it. There are only MR songs. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to sing, so it is a good album for me. I like Shin Hye-sung, too. And Shinhwa…well, is there someone who doesn`t like Shinhwa? I admire many many singers. Moreover, Japanese singers, too as Hamasaki Ayumi and Porno Graffitti.

Nice to see you interested in music ! I do like korean+japanese music too, but not the type you have listed ~haha. You seem to be more into the pop-scene whereas I do like some ‘kpop’, but I prefer more ballad-like and r&B music from like Lee Seung Gi, Eru, FTTS, etc. But then again who does not like kpop? Big Bang and Epik high are pretty good too.
[A couple years ago I used to listen to Hip-hop-ish music, but I strayed away from that. I also used to listen to Rain and Se7en, but now I really cannot stand some of their songs. Too much pop.]
In Japan, I like BoA, ’some’ alternative J-rock like AKFG, some of the latest DBSK stuff, and many individual songs from a multitude of artists.
And about Lee Soo Young’s MR album, I have not heard anything about it. I tried researching on it, but I could not find any information regarding it.
And lastly, can you sing in languages you don’t understand? ~haha

Well, I like many type of songs. I like Eru, SG Wannabe, V.O.S, too. I admire hip-hop, ballads, instrumental music.
I LOVE to sing, so there is no problem if I don`t understand what I sing. kkkkkkkkk but I try to understand what I sing…imagine I say many bad words while singing. It would be ashamed. And do you like to sing?
I like to sing Fahrenheit songs, too. I studied Japanese, Korean and Chinese, but I forgot many words. It is very sad.

Nah, I am not Korean nor am I a Korean-holic. At one point a couple years ago I was affected by the ‘hallyu’, but only because I live in an area with many many koreans. So it is only natural that their culture rubbed off on me.
Nowadays I just listen to whatever sounds good. However, I do like Japanese stuff
Though I am hoping one day that chinese music goes under a much needed improvement.
As for new ballads and stuff, sorry I cannot help. I have been super busy lately and I have not been up-to-date with any new releases (not that there really are any yet). So sorry I cannot help to introduce you to anything, however, you seem to be finding things on your own alot lately.

There are not any HQ or MQ MV’s for either. Any LQ MV’s is basically the same as watching it on youtube (and in that case, rip it from youtube). However, when a decent quality MV does come out, I’ll let you know. The MV was pretty good (you know, the usual Korean love triangle ㅋㅋ), but I was watching the MV more than the music. And on the acting skills, (I’m not saying that they were bad), but maybe you were looking a little too close at their looks

I have never heard of 드래곤 플라이. I researched into them and found that they have a 2002 debut album named [1집 - Flight]. Other than that they are pretty much unheard of. Their style is pop. To find tracklists I usually use wikipedia -haha-. It is actually really accurate. If I cannot find it on wikipedia, then I use google search:”artist – album”. OR I search: “artist discography” and see if I can find anything there.
If these do not work, I use yesAsia. I find a random track from the yesAsia album tracklist (since you cannot copy/paste) and google “artist – track” to see if I can find the tracklist that way. If this does not work, I use korean websites that are either free or sell music. IF all else fails and it is on yesAsia, I would write it myself, but I have never had to get this far

I recommend 이승기 [LSG]’s 1st concert album: Love. His voice really improved from his husky voice in his first album, which really makes the song sound soo much better. I really recommend Track 1 and 6 from the concert album (but most of the song are good).

Sorry I have been on hiatus for awhile. I have just been really busy with school and all. About the Shin Seung Hun albums, I’ll upload them soon; I have already got a few of them for you.
A while back someone was asking for the MV for SNSD’s Kissing You so here it is! [130MB Kissing You]. Warning, however, it is a “.tp” movie file. It plays without a problem on GOM player, but you’ll need to get the codec for Windows Media Player. Or I could find a way to convert it to WMV or AVI file. It is very good high quality, but just has an annoying ad at the top left.

Next thing you know they’ll make a Korean ‘Hana Kimi’ with Eun Hye again as a guy! That would be funny, but not as good as the Japanese version of hana Kimi or Coffee Prince. I think a Japanese “Goong” would be something good to watch especially with Japan’s old royalty. ANYWAY. I don’t watch many dramas except for the good ones. Recently though, I have not seen a drama since last fall. >.<!

YEH is a good actress. Kim Jong Kook and her are soo cute together. Her voice in this song is mediocre. The song itself is upbeat, but her voice isn’t stellar. I never got into Baby VOX.

D: Well of the top of my head I can’t say there is one that stands out that has been released then again its 2 am for me and my brain isn’t fully functioning. lol. What aspects of Uni are you afraid of most? For me, there wasn’t as much change, only that i had too much freedom and it was up the individual to decide what they wanted to achieve. Also, i guess you’ll have to put in the effort to make friends because they’ll be a great asset, especially if they’re from the same class. Sometimes it was confusing what the lecturer wanted us to do, you’d really have no one to clarrify things with.
You’re planning on studying in the field of Medicine or Engineering? Wah.. smart cookie lol. Aha… the Socialist PRC in China, i guess everybody dreads that, but it’s a pitty you won’t have time to go abroad. Going abroad is quite expensive. Well… I’m on exchange, meaning that i don’t really have to pay the tution fee for my host Uni but only to my home Uni. I’d say for one year my budget is slightly over $20,000 AUSD. Minus the school fees, this includes everything, airfairs, insurance, buying new items and clothes, expenses whilst overseas etc… It maybe depends on the person. But yeah, i had to work my but off to save for the trip and buy everything needed. As for my major, I’m studying a double degree, Arts / Commerce. For Arts, I’m majoring in Korean and my minor is Internatinal Studies. In Commerce, I’m not too sure yet. At first I wanted to do Asian Transition and Developement but soon realized that it was mainly focussed on economics, so now I’m thinking that if i do change my mind, I will do Marketing. Of all the Commerce units that I have studied, Marketing was really the only interesting unit for me. Same here, I’ve been wondering where my Korean will take me and I’ve asked a lot of people the same question but with no great answer. All people every think about is something along the lines of translation and so on.. I’m not sure what i want to do but because I’ve got Commerce to back up my Korean, I want to work for a company maybe in Australia who sends their employees overseas to Korea. That way, knowing Korean would be an advantage. Or.. it’ll be good to work in Korea in the Entertainment Industry. But I’m thinking it’ll be hard to access. I’m thinking, if i can’t directly do something related to music since i have no high level experience of music making etc.. I can always work around it, do something related to it. Marketing sounds good lol.
And.. thanks for the prose. I’ve only been here for 12 days and I’m not feeling much ahah… I’m praying for my Korean to improve. Of course, it’s really different to Australia but I guess i’m starting to get used to it. I will write more later on about my trip once I get the photos off my friend. Note… mainly scenery pics. There are very many teaching scholarships available. If I had any interest in traching 9which I don’t at all), it would be a good career to get into. Of course I am writing this from the point of view of the teachers I have/had in high school. They all seem to enjoy their job (even though it does not really pay alot.) One thing they always say is that it is never boring.

Glad to hear you back even for a short while. It is really expensive to go abroad and if I did I would go to Japan. I think I had already mentioned this before. Well, I’ll *try* to go abroad (because it sounds like it would be a good experince), but I do not think I’ll be able to with the expenses and all. I was thinking of getting into some Japanese medical school after 4 years of undergraduate, but of course American medical schools are more prestigeous and possibly better. If I took the engineering route, I would be helpless under those Japanese math geniuses. A friend (who happens to be like a genius) joked about being an ‘alpaca farmer’ and I always said back that I would become a rice farmer. A simple life.
I am always hoping that university would be better than high school, but I always come to the conclusion that only I can make university better for myself. >.<” Do you still keep in contact with the people you had met in university?
I really hope that marketing or commerce is a good career for you. If you do not at least appreciate marketing/commerce then it would be such a boring job.
Oh and the links I posted up there were all deleted (by me accidentally). If you needed anything, then I can re-upload ~
Oh and lastly, hopefully you’re not sick. Usually when a person goes abroad they catch new colds and the such ebcause the strains of cold in korea may not be the same as the strains in Australia. But if you do get sick, think of it as a transition into the korean environment. Stay warm~!

Yup! I begin to listen all genres of Korean music and so far, it was good~!
But for me, ballad song is THE BEST, and Korean ballad is AWESOME!!! ^^
Most of it makes me crying while listening to it… >.<

I hate it when I fully type a comment and accidentally exit before posting it (which happens ALOT). It makes me not want to post anything in the first place especially when it is long. sigh~ I won’t add comments this time.

Korean version; version being sold in korean region. It does not necessarily mean that there is a korean language version of the song. Example: There is a Hong Kong version…it does not mean that there are chinese versions of the song.

If you checked yeasia, it would tell you that the Destiny OST does not release until about March 20,2008. It comes out along with the release of the “most anticipated” movie.
